Thrift Store Finds

January 27th 2010

The early morning temperature was at -1 to-day good scootering weather. I have to wrap up warmly, oh ! the joys of knitted sweaters (pullovers/woolies for all you Europeans!)

To-day on my way home from work I decided to check out the local thrift shop. I like to keep my shopping local if I can, the money raised from this store goes to the local hospital. I found two wool skirts and one wool jacket. I have a few ideas in mind for them along the lines of upcycled bag from the jacket and may be use the skirts for cutting into stripes for a rug hooking project. My mind is full of ideas …its just making time to fit them all in šŸ™‚

I have a great story about a sweater I found in a thrift shop before Christmas but I’ll save that for another day and that will give me time to take some photographs.

About woolbrain

My current focus is working with natural dyes, local and traditional to create unique colour and patterns on cloth and paper. I have been inspired by others over the years, using local flowers, bark and leaves. The process is quite simple but the results are always varied which in turn makes the process exciting.
